Introduction to Beadmaking (Wed, Jul 9)
New Street Glass Studio, Flameworking Studio, 35B New Street, Worcester, MA
Availible as 6 classes on Tuesdays 6:30 PM- 9:30 PM or 6 classes on Wednesdays 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM. Using a torch and "soft" soda lime glass, students will learn to make beautiful glass beads in this course. Shaping, surface decoration, hollow beads and other techniques will be discussed and demonstrated. This hands-on class allows time for students to make multiple beads per session. No experience necessary.

Volunteer docents conduct the tours of the SocietyÂ’s main library building called Antiquarian Hall. Located at 185 Salisbury Street, Antiquarian Hall is the third home to the Society and the site of an eighteenth-century printing press, a collection of antique furniture, portraits, and Staffordshire pottery and twenty-five miles of shelving filled with historic printed materials including a new state-of-the art book vault constructed in 2002. All of these features, plus a short film are included in the free Wednesday tours.
