Gain a new perspective, and learn about the history, lifestyle, and spirituality of the Navajo people, while studying the basics of a unique and beautiful tapestry technique. Using a small version of the Navajo loom, students will create a sampler featuring stripes, pick-and-pick, honeycomb patterns, and a traditional motif using the vertical join. Weavers with previous experience may select a pattern which includes the diagonal join. Discussions of Navajo history and mythology will accompany the weaving sessions.
