Tower Hill Botanic Garden: Stoddard Education and Visitors Center, 11 French Drive, Boylston, MA
Instructor: Paul M. Steen, M.D.
Tropical and subtropical plants are primarily indoor ornamentals in our
climate, and they can temporarily serve the same role outdoors during
the warmer months. In this course the special needs and characteristics
of tropical and subtropical plants will be surveyed. An overview of
available types and species, both well-known and unusual, will enable
students to select such plants intelligently and to care for them
successfully. Since all house plants are tropical/subtropical in origin, we
will devote several sessions to caring for house plants and indoor care of
tropical plants in New England. Specimen plants in The Orangerie will be a
principal resource for the course. (Thirteen classes)

Šolman’s "The Heart of Perspective, The Making of the Film" Concludes April 5th at UCCS Dario Šolman’s The Heart of Perspective, The Making of the Film is an ongoing project begun in 2001 that consists of studies and tests for a film that will never be made. Šolman has stated, “When we use the word ‘film,’ we think of a possible film, a hypothetic interplay of image, sound and text. To avoid further confusion, we should think of it as film without a film. In other words, a film space that is not contained in a film shell.” Instead, Šolman uses the terms Cinemation or Secondary-Cinema to refer to his practice. He allows the evidences of the film - the tests, the texts, and the research - to define what this non-existent film is or can be. Don Li-Leger
